About Susan Gibbs
Susan grew up on a working cattle and sheep ranch in northeast Wyoming. She showed horses and competed in rodeo during her high school years. Susan moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 1977 and began studying with Roy Yates, a reining trainer in 1980. She has worked with numerous world-renowned clinicians, both in Western and English disciplines throughout the years. Susan developed the Natural Horsemanship Ranch Camp in 2000, helping many young riders develop confidence around horses, and a strong balanced seat and riding skills. Susan has been a ski school pro for the Aspen Ski Schools for over 30 years. She uses many of the skills that are learned in trainings on the mountain with some of the top pros in the ski industry to work with horses and humans. Susan is always continuing to deepen her level of understanding about how to communicate, educate and develop skills in all levels of both the horse and rider.
My ranch is nestled in the beautiful mountains of Carbondale, CO. With wide open spaces, beautiful trails, a sweet little riding arena and barn, the ranch offers the opportunity to interact with horses, goats, and dogs, and to observe the wildlife that make the scrub and riparian areas around the ranch their home.
This is a private ranch, so we welcome your SCHEDULED visit. If you'd like to stop by outside of your appointed camp or lesson time, please call ahead and schedule an appointment.
I work out of SKYLINE RANCH, a great indoor facility right outside of Carbondale, Colorado November through mid-May! Thank you, Dar and Marty!!
